Hair dryer 2025: the results of our Survey among 1000 Italian Salons

After six months of work and careful analysis, the results of our exclusive survey of Il Rivista del Parrucchiere are finally ready.
We involved 1000 Italian salons, selected from our mailing list, asking a simple but fundamental thing: which hair dryer do you prefer to use every day in the salon?

The answers allowed us to accurately photograph the market and the real choices of Italian hairdressers. Here’s what they told us.

📌 1st place – Parlux Elysium (26%)

Parlux’s new Elysium dominates the ranking.
What the hairdressers told us:

• chosen for its power that reduces drying time,
• leaves a shiny and disciplined result on the hair,
• In the salon it is considered “a safe investment” for durability and reliability.

📌 2nd place – Dyson Supersonic Nural (21%)

Dyson’s most innovative model takes second place.
What the hairdressers told us:

• appreciated for the protection of scalp and brittle hair,
• hair is light and healthy, with a more natural touch,
• In the salon it is perceived as a plus of image that impresses customers.

📌 3rd place – Gama iQ3 Perfect (17%)

Super light and technological, the Gama hair dryer enters the podium.
What the hairdressers told us:

• weighs only 294g, perfect for working hours without fatigue,
• hair is uniform and frizz-free,
• Defined as “the hair dryer that saves the wrist” for ergonomics and ease of use.

📌 4th place – JRL Forte Pro 2020H (15%) – The emerging brand

The JRL digital hair dryer is the revelation of this survey.
What the hairdressers told us:

• Chosen for its powerful and precise airflow,
• on the hair gives silkiness and long-lasting folds,
• appreciated for its innovation and value for money.
  Many have called it “the emerging brand that is growing fastest in Italian salons and barber shops”.

📌 5th place – Gamma Più X-Horizon (11%)

A hair dryer that brings new technologies to the living room.
What the hairdressers told us:

• 120,000 rpm digital turbo engine and light weight (290 g),
• shiny and full-bodied hair, with a natural effect,
• The switchable ion generator is seen as a real innovation.
  It has been defined by many as “the digital novelty that makes work faster and more precise”.

📌 6th place – Elchim Dynamos (4%)

Less rated, but still esteemed by those who use it and among the TOP 6.
What the hairdressers told us:

• chosen for its elegant design and comfort of use,
• on the hair the results are soft and clean,
• Several salons have reported that “it is not the most powerful, but very pleasant to use every day”.

Other brands (e.g. Panasonic, GHD, Babyliss Pro, Wahl, etc.) → 6%

Conclusion

The survey of 1000 Italian salons gives us a clear picture: hairdressers choose tools that combine hair results, ergonomics and image.

• Parlux remains the absolute reference,
• Dyson wins with innovation,
• Gama stands out for its lightness,
• JRL grows as an emerging brand,
• Gamma Più surprises as a digital novelty,
• Elchim remains appreciated for its style and comfort.
• Everything else is “boredom” 😉
