Hair is fabric: Scottish plaid becomes a graphic design for hair
At a glance: in “Hair is fabric”, traditional Scottish plaid becomes a graphic motif for hair, playing across bobs, fringes and bold colour contrasts.
Tartan leaves the fabric and moves into hair. This editorial project reimagines the classic Scottish plaid as a pattern of lines and colour across different cuts, lengths and shapes.
The creative team wanted to show traditional plaid in a fun, editorial way. Hair becomes a surface to play with: pale and dark bands, flashes of red and yellow, and striking contrasts against vivid green.

Tartan, drawn into the hair
The pattern shifts from one look to the next. Across a short fringe it creates a geometric design; on a tousled green bob, the lines follow the haircut’s shape. Tartan becomes part of the overall hair look, working alongside colour and silhouette.

An editorial built around one image
This is a project made for photography and editorial storytelling: hair, makeup, styling and clothes come together to create a single visual idea. It shows how a familiar pattern can become a creative language for hair.

The creative team has also teased another series inspired by Burberry, coming next.
